Sunday is the feast of St Rocco. St. Rocco is a popular local saint whose name is often invoked against: cholera, epidemics, knee problems, plague, skin diseases. Saint Rocco is also known as the Patron Saint of: bachelors, diseased cattle, dogs, falsely accused people, invalids, Istanbul, surgeons, gravediggers, second-hand dealers, pilgrims, apothecaries.
As is customary, the feast of this popular Saint is celebrated with a procession throughout Chinatown and the Armour Square section of Bridgeport this Sunday afternoon. Please come out and enjoy this wonderful local tradition.
